Our Curriculum Aims 

INTENTION

At North Duffield Under 5s, our curriculum aligns with our Vision, that we follow the child’s natural curiosity and provide opportunities to express themselves in a safe, loving, warm and welcoming environment that feeds their growth, development and learning.

IMPLEMENTATION

In order to fulfil our intent, we will follow the Four Principals of the Early Years Foundation Stage, which will underpin our planning, observation and assessment of learning opportunities for our children.

IMPACT

We will know we have made an impact on children’s learning and development when, through regular assessment, we see our children as secure in the three Prime Areas, which are:

• Physical Development

At North Duffield Under Fives, we acknowledge that each child develops at their own pace and it is our responsibility to facilitate and support their unique learning journey.

Children with Additional Needs

There is no ‘one size fits all’ at North Duffield Under Fives and we take pride in been an inclusive setting, ensuring children of all abilities are able to make progress and meet their own individual goals.

We have a brilliant and passionate SENCO and trained practitioners who have a passion to support children with additional needs, giving them the individualised support to help them succeed.
